Commemorative Yuri Gagarin Russian Ruble Set Including the 1.11ozt Silver 30th Anniversary 3 Ruble Coin + 30th Anniversary Postage Set. Fine collection of Russian minted coinage all commemorating anniversaries of the first man in space, Yuri Gagarin. The best is the 1991, 3 ruble 30th Anniversary of his flight minted in 900 silver and weighing 1.11 ozt, the image being the monument built to Gagarin. The two smaller coins are the two ruble Gagarin from 2001 for the 40th Anniversary and the 50th Anniversary 10 ruble coin from 2011. The remaining large coin is in white metal with a high relief portrait of the Cosmonaut. Secure in box lid are a pair of 4-block commemorative Gagarin stamps produced in 1991 for the 30th Anniversary.
Not part of the boxed set but included is the 10 ruble 40th Anniversary two-toned coin from 2001 also for the 40th Anniversary of Gagarins historic feat.
All in fine to very fine condition with the four coin set if a fine wood box with the Russian Imperial Eagle insignia on lid. Estimated Value $150 - UP

Detlev Van Ravenswaay: Three Original Acrylic Art Works Used in Popular Science Fiction Publications (1956-) German artist, still active, known for his striking and imaginative works capturing the science of the cosmos. 1.) "End of the Planetary System" (1992) a phenomenally appealing science fiction landscape in reds and oranges that evidently found its way in several publications. Original acrylic and watercolor on board, 16 x 21½" 2.) "Horsehead Nebula in Orion" (1993) original artwork where photographs of the piece were offered by image banks for use in popular science publications. 15½ x 21½". 3.) "In the Rings of Neptune" (1994) original acrylic and watercolor that boasts a vivid almost 3-D effect that is remarkable. Again offered by image banks for use in science publications. 15½ x 21". All three works have Van Ravensway's label on verso and all stating "Buyer of this painting agrees not to reproduce for any commercial use or product until 1999." Know this leaves the high bidder of these three original works free and clear for any use. All three in excellent condition and quite spectacular. Estimated Value $600 - UP

Lynette Cook, "Sungrazer" Original Mixed Media on Board of Comet Orbiting Near the Sun. Lynette Cook is well known for her exoplanet artworks, many of which have accompanied media and press releases. Cook's illustrations are featured in the book "Infinite Worlds: An Illustrated Voyage to Planets Beyond Our Sun," which she co-authored with Ray Villard, and the children's book titled Faraway Worlds: Planets Beyond Our Solar System, written by Paul Halpern. Cook describes this striking and beautiful work: "Comets move around the sun in long oribits. Comets which pass very close to the sun are called sungrazers with some actually crashing into the sun." 11½ x 15½", framed and matted to 19 x 23½" and in excellent condition. Signed and dated 1995 by artist in lower right corner. Estimated Value $500 - UP
